The roaring of the water fall thudded loudly into the river and rang in her ears. A thin mist of water sprayed onto Cloudedstar's fur, making tiny orbs of silver run down her whiskers then splash off onto the rock beneath her. Cloudedstar closed her sightless eyes and drew in the scent of the fresh water that cascaded endlessly from the Serenity Falls, exhaling with a sigh after holding her breath for a few seconds. This water fall was Cloudedstar's escape- where she went to be alone or just to gather her thoughts by herself. It was the depth of night time, the Clan was sleeping peacefully, she was sure there would be no trouble during her absence.
Cloudedstar drew in an enormous yawn, rising to the tips of her toes and stretching luxuriously. The trees around her swayed in the breeze, all illuminated in a bright silver glow from the light of the Stardust that hovered in the purple sky above. The wind blew gently through her fur like cold breaths, and crickets chirped a lovely tune in the depths of the grass somewhere behind her. Cloudedstar blinked a few times and looked up towards the sky. She bet it was a beautiful night, and for once she wished that she could see what it looked like. Cloudedstar had no anger about being blind, none at all, but sometimes she felt that it would be nice to see everything that took place around here, especially at such a beautiful location.

He had burned his anger off by collecting herbs for the clan. A new stock of water mint and horsetail was needed. So when Cloudedstar had snapped he went off to do something useful. A light zephyr carried a mist of water that latched onto his white pelt and made it sparkle in the dim light. His intentions were to see if there was cat mint here. However there was none, and instead of finding herbs, he found his leader.
He wanted to scowl and say some comeback remark from their hunt today, however, now wasn't the time. She looked relaxed and calm. Taking in a deep breath, the tom bunched up his hind legs and leaped to where the she-cat lay. He wasn't going to apologize. No, not at all. He wasn't like that. He was quite stubborn. His blue-green eyes burned into hers, even though she couldn't not see, he knew that his leader knew he was there.
He lied down, bringing his front paws underneath his muzzle. His eyes closed and he focused on the roaring waterfall. His breathing slowed, he had never been so relaxed. All his worries had just been wiped away. Except of course, the memory of his father. He thought he heard Cloudedstar stiry, making him lift his head in an alert manner."You know, its upsetting...well my father...and all..." He mewed trying to strike up a conversation.

Cloudedstar had began to drift off into a shallow sleep when the scent of a CloudClan cat reached her on the breeze. She slowly opened her eyes and sat up straight, flicking her ears and chasing away the sleepiness that clawed at her. "You're out late, Snowpaw," Cloudedstar commented quietly as the apprentice padded up to sit beside her. "Gathering herbs?" she asked, drawing in the sharp scents of herbs that clung to the white cat's fur.
Cloudedstar nodded slowly to herself at the apprentice's comment, then exhaled a sigh. "I understand that," she mewed, closing her eyes briefly for a moment. "Things were said that shouldn't of been said, things that did not come from us, but out of anger and hurt." She paused, wondering what his reply would be.

Snowpaw sniffed his pelt and nodded."Yes I was collecting herbs. I think that Brightpath will appreciate it. He looked at her and listened to what she said. Anger and hurt. That was true."My father started it all. I don't know if you were leader at the time, but if you don't know about it I can gladly explain." He mewed softly.

Cloudedstar chuckled softly. "I've been leader for fifty stars, long before you were born," she meowed. "I was aware of tensions between you and your father...but I never understood why." She paused for a moment, then lowered herself onto her underbelly, stretching her forepaws out in front of her to sit comfortably. "You can tell me, if you like."

He nodded taking a deep breath."Well I had a sister... Skykit. Her and I were so close. I would do anything to protect her. However, my father and I never really hated each until recently. You see, he always talked about mentoring me. Making me the strongest and most respected warrior in the forest. My brother, Shrewkit had always been jealous of that, so therefore we never really got along. One day, my mother grew ill and she was unable to fend for herself. Randomly she started attacking the clan, I'm sure you remember that. Foam just dripped from her mouth. She took a few lives before she fell. She went after Skykit and I just wouldn't let that happen. I jumped and she clawed my face. However instead of getting what she had, my eye got infected. I stayed with Brightpath until the day I was able to become an actual apprentice. However, Falconbreeze had said, if I could not see he did not want to be my father. He did not want to be the father of an apprentice who would be a burden to the clan." Snowpaw paused looking in a small pool of water. Across his eye, a slight scar ran across. He shook his head and continued." Obviously, my sight didn't get better. My mother was dead, Brightpath was all I really had. I don't think the likes my father to much anyways. Skykit, ended up dying from the chilling winter a few moons ago. I did everything I could to protect her, but I couldn't. As you know, Falconbreeze and Shrewpaw left the clan. A long story short, he hated me because I would be a burden. However what he doesn't know is that I will be one of the most powerful cats in the forest one day. Not by claws, but by wisdom. Medicine cats and leaders, they are the strongest cats in the forest. Not by their claws, but by what they know that other cats don't. When I am a Medicine cat, I will become one of those who are powerful."
