This list contains all of the herbs used by medicine cats. Be sure to READ THE WHOLE LIST if you have a medicine cat, so that you know what herbs to use for what sickness/injury. I realize that this is a different planet, but to spare any further confusion the names of the herbs will remain the same .
Aloe - Used to treat skin irritations and counter infection
Blackberry (Bramble) - Roots can treat diarrhea, a poultice of the leaves can be applied to the mouth to treat sores
Borage leaves - Used to treat fevers
Broom - Used in poultice for broken bones
Burdock root - Used for infections, especially rat bites
Catnip - Used to ease pain and help to cure Greencough, treats fevers. Also, it repels insects when rubbed on fur, but it may disturb concentration
Cat's foot (Ground-Ivy) - Used to stimulate appetite, so feed it to sick cats who refuse to eat. Also a sedative when made into a poultice and applied to the skin.
Celandine- Used to treat ailments of the eyes
Chamomile - Used to relax cats and to help sore throats
Chervil root - Used to cure bellyache
Chickweed - Used to treat skin irritation
Cobwebs - Used to stop bleeding
Coltsfoot - Used to treat kittencough
Comfrey - Used to help heal broken bones
Daisy leaves - Soothes aching joints
Dandelion - Taken regularly, it helps to detoxify the body (good to take after a digestive sickness)
Deathberries (Yew) - (no medicinal pupose) Bright scarlet berries that can easily kill a cat if they aren't expelled quickly enough. Three can kill the strongest warrior.
Dock leaves - Used to make fur slippery when stuck in a tight space or if a cat has something stuck around them.
Feverfew - Used to reduce head pain
Honey - Used to sooth irritated throats and other things
Horsetail - Used to treat infected wounds
Jewelweed - Treats skin irritations caused by plants, especially good for poison oak and poison ivy
Juniper berries - Used to cure bellyache
Mallow - Treats sore throats and coughs, also soothes skin irritations and fights infections
Marigold - Used to heals wounds and sores, usually in a poultice
Mountain Mint - Do not use on pregnant she-cats- harmful to fetuses. Used to treat chills and fevers, crushed flowers rubbed on fur repels insects.
Mouse bile - Used to removes ticks and other parasites from a cat's coat
Nettle - Leaves are used on rashes and fever, also to counter bleeding. The leaves also relieve swelling
Nightshade - (No medicinal value) Poisonous, can kill cats
Poppy seeds - Used for easing pain and to make cats sleepy
Ragwort leaves - used in a poultice with juniper berries to soothe aching joints
Snakeroot - Used to counter poison
Spearmint - For morning sickness in pregnant she-cats (eaten), when crushed in a poultice it can be used on bruises, stiffness, and rheumy joints
Tansy - Used to treat coughs
Thyme - Used to ease anxieties
Violet sood sorrel - for urunary problems, also strengthens a weak stomach, produces and appetite, and helps to stop vomiting
Water mint - Used to cure bellyache
Wild garlic - When rolled in, it helps to keep out infections
Willow bark - Chewed on for toothaches, headaches, and other small, temporary pains
